Isabella Esser-Munera recently graduated from Ursinus College where she worked as an advocate and peer docent for the art at the Berman Museum on the Ursinus campus. She also had previously worked in hospice care. She employs art as a means for health and joy throughout her daily life. Isabella has a particular interest in the overlap of communication and education and hopes to expand her research after graduation. Bella, as she is known by her friends, writes that she “happily worked to broaden and deepen ARTZ for the greater community.”
Celia Morrison, a Philosophy major who also graduated from Ursinus College in May 2015, writes that she “finds some solid ground in the beautiful care ethic ARTZ represents. For me, representing ARTZ Philadelphia means participating in sessions with the warm residents of Tucker House, soaking in special group sessions at the Barnes Foundation, and expanding ARTZ Philadelphia outreach through social media. I am excited to see how my degree in philosophy and minors in biology and applied ethics will complement my experiences in art as therapy.” As she plans to live in Philadelphia post-graduation, Celia looks forward to furthering her commitment to the blooming ARTZ community in our city.
Celia has found one way to integrate her substantial skills and varied background with her commitment to “art as therapy” – she has joined the staff of ARTZ Philadelphia!
