The Relationship Between the Arts and Living Well with Dementia

ARTZ Philadelphia Founder and Executive Director Susan Shifrin recently presented at “The Relationship Between The Arts and Living Well with Dementia,” a webinar hosted by Dementia Friendly PA. The webinar also features Jason Karlawish, MD, Co-Director of Penn Memory Center, Jamie Dunlap, Chief of Creative Catalysts and Life Long Learning for PA Council on the Arts, Catherine Richmond-Cullen, Ed. D, President of neuroLEARN, LLC, the Director of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts (PCA) Partnership Program (aieNEPA) at the Northeastern Educational Intermediate Unit, and consultant to the Philadelphia Arts and Education Partnership, and Janice Whitaker, M.E.d., BSN, RN CDP, the Administrator and Community Liaison at Tressa Nese and Helen Diskevich Center of Geriatric Nursing Excellence, Penn State Ross and Carol Nese School of Nursing. The webinar explores: “the impact of various forms art on the cognitive function and emotional well-being in individuals living with dementia,” as well as touching on, “practical strategies for integrating arts based activities…” into daily life.
