Our 10th Anniversary Celebration Concert is less than a week away! Meet the final two members of the New York-based band People of Earth who will be performing live on June 22nd.

Celebrate a decade of bringing joy to our neighbors, family, and friends affected by dementia… and help make the next decade possible!

Percussionist Gabriel Globus-Hoenich blends a multitude of musical influences together in his work as a performer, composer, and educator. A Montreal native, Gabriel is now based in New York City where his career continues to reflect a deep love for the worlds of jazz, classical music, and world music. Gabriel has performed with a wide variety of artists from Yo-Yo Ma to the Philly Pops, and many more. Gabriel has also written orchestral arrangements for Grammy-award winners.

In 2017 Gabriel founded People of Earth, a 15-person Latin fusion group filled with some of NYC’s best musicians representing a myriad of countries. People of Earth has performed at Disney Hall, New World Center for the Arts, Mann Center, and Kennedy Center, among others.

Ashira Mothersil is a vocal performer, educator, and second year doctoral student in music and music education at Teacher’s College Columbia University. Born in a Haitian household in East Flatbush, Brooklyn, Ashira’s love for music was inspired by her multicultural upbringing. Today, Ashira describes her artistry as a melting pot of different sounds, styles, and genres that reflect her love for the African Diaspora, and through music she hopes to use her voice to celebrate its beauty, healing, and resilience.
